Paying tribute to her partner and father of her daughters, Bruce Willis, Emma Heming Willis shared a rant about how difficult it is to celebrate symbolic dates after the actor was diagnosed with dementia.

Emma took to her Instagram page to mark Father's Day, which was celebrated in the US on Sunday, June 15, and began by writing: "Happy Father's Day to all the dads living with illness, who show up as much as they can for themselves and their children who are there. What Bruce teaches our girls goes far beyond words. Resilience, unconditional love and the quiet strength of simply being there."

"This photo says a lot. Love deepens. It adapts. It stays, even when everything changes. But to be fair to myself, these symbolic days really do affect me. Today I am deeply sad. I wish things were different for him and lighter for our family. As they say in our DFT community: 'It is what it is'," she added, explaining that such 'teaching' "gives her stability and helps her accept it and not fight it".

It is worth remembering that Emma and Bruce Willis are the parents of Mabel Ray Willis, 13, and Evelyn Penn Willis, 11. The actor is also the father of Rumer Glenn Willis, 36, Scout LaRue Willis, 33, and Tallulah Belle Willis, 31, from his previous marriage to Demi Moore.
